Life Changing

I have not written in a very long time, since before christmas in fact. Life has changed in momentous ways. Shortly after moving to our new home to have space for our growing family, we quickly discovered our family was expanding by two, we are expecting two girls to fill our home sometime in august, another august daughter! I have been working on a personal project to document my pregnancy. Pregnancy is such a wild experience, my biggest regret with J is I believe I may only have one picture while I was pregnant with her, I sorely regret that. I want to share this journey, and be able to look back on it. It has also been such a unique creative process for me, I find that when I am taking pictures of myself, I feel much less awkward, more difficult to get the shot I want, but so freeing. Here is my little journey up to this point.

December- The First Day

Two years ago my mom found an advent calendar made of paper boxes with small fir trees on top, this year I finally found the trees and time to create this advent idea I love so much. Last year, shortly before christmas, J came home in tears demanding to know the “truth” about christmas. I was beside myself. B and I sat down with her, as he proceeded to perfectly explain the spirit of christmas for us and our family. The spirit of the season, the giving of love and joy, of merriment, and thanks. Believing in something greater, giving everything you can to others, and well of course, magic. After what I felt would be a traumatic event, it has made christmas even more wonderful. J told us, she wants to choose to believe, for that, I am so thankful.
